NEWPORT – A Plymouth couple received multiple injuries Saturday morning when their vehicle crashed in snowy conditions on Ridge Road.

Dennis Bournival, 51, and his wife, Nancy, 45, were traveling north from Plymouth, according to Newport Officer Larry Merrithew, when they lost control of their 1989 Pontiac on a snow-covered curve. The vehicle spun completely around and then slid sideways off the opposite side of the road, landing on its passenger side.

Newport Rescue crews used extrication equipment to remove the vehicle’s roof to reach Nancy Bournival, who was trapped in the car.

The accident happened by Martin Stream and the embankment was 10 to 12 feet high, said Merrithew. The accident occurred about 8 a.m.

Merrithew was assisted at the scene by Newport Rescue and Fire, Corinna Ambulance and Sebasticook Valley Hospital Ambulance. The couple were taken to SVH in Pittsfield for treatment, and they were later released.
