I am tired of opening the Bangor Daily News and reading letters from Democrat supporters of Jane Saxl whining about Tom Sawyer out-spending the four-term state representative in the Bangor Senate race.
My son ran against a Bangor incumbent – U.S. Congressman John Baldacci. Dick Campbell spent about $70,000 compared to the nearly half-million dollars spent by Rep. Baldacci. I don’t hear Dick or his supporters crying foul about the congressman “buying” his seat.
It seems to me that Democrats complain when Republicans work hard and beat them at their own game. Maybe they are just practicing; now that George W. Bush is our next president, we likely will hear a lot of whining over the next four years.
