Leavitt lifts MCI to victory over Maranacook Senior scores 37 to pass 1,000

PITTSFIELD – Senior guard Amanda Leavitt poured in a game-high 37 points Tuesday night, pass the 1,000-point career scoring mark while powering Maine Central Institute to a 62-47 schoolgirl basketball victory over Maranacook.

Leavitt reached the milestone on her ninth point in the first quarter. She also finished with seven rebounds and four steals. Jen Cummings grabbed 10 rebounds.

Kristen Sinclair topped the Black Bears of Readfield with 12 points.
