BANGOR – A night of Maine humor will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, in Peakes Auditorium at Bangor High School featuring Joe Bennett, Gary Crocker and Clyde Folsom. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students and senior citizens.
Bennett has been speaking for nearly 10 years and has appeared around New England and on “America’s Funniest People.” A married father of four teens, Bennett is a fifth-grade teacher at Hermon Elementary School. He has released a CD of original songs on the Civil War called “Ballad of the 20th Maine.” He enjoys storytelling, singing and running.
Crocker, born in Lewiston and living in West Gardiner, has appeared around New England and across the country. He has been speaking publicly for 18 years, and says he believes that laughter heals and that the power of humor can improve almost any situation. He works for and is a lobbyist for the Maine Technical College.
Folsom, born in Millinocket, is well-known in the area as a storyteller and has a number of tapes on the market. He is retired after spending 31 years at the University of Maine in the Counseling Center. He is an artist and former president of the Bangor Art Society. He is married with three grown sons and five grandchildren.
