Chrisos sparks Patriots Bangor Christian topples Schenck

BANGOR – Dave Chrisos led a trio of Bangor Christian double-digit scorers with 24 points as the Patriots downed Schenck 58-51 in a boys basketball contest Friday night.

Josh Madden had 12 points and eight rebounds for the Patriots, while Kyle Bradford wound up with 10 points and nine boards.

Ryan Deschenes led the Wolverines of East Millinocket with 21 points, and Mike Hamlin had 10.

Bennett Gray scored 15 points for the Mariners, Josh Bolton added 14 and Matt Perez and Hank Gielarowski had 11 apiece.

Mike Hardy topped the Tigers, who had cut an 18-point deficit to four late in the third quarter, with 23 points. J.J. Phinney added 21, including five 3-pointers, and Ross Grammer had 11 points.

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, Nate Chisholm stopped 19 of 20 shots for 6-4 Mount Ararat to hold John Bapst to only one goal.

Tyler Hodgkins, Robbie Bichrest, Wes Culver and Ryan Atwood notched a goal apiece for the Eagles of Topsham.

Zach Means turned a Kim Meagner assist into a goal for 2-5-1 John Bapst. Goalie Dominic Dinardo made 28 saves on 32 shots for the Crusaders.

At Millinocket, the Tigers held the Minutemen to three points in the final quarter to rally for the win.
