BANGOR – Trotter, Captain E P, received the most votes from readers of the Bangor Daily News as their choice for Harness Horse of the Year honors in the annual BDN contest. The award was presented to owner Edwin Reynolds of Bangor and Machias, Friday night at the winter meeting of the Down East Harness Horsemen’s Association. The five-year-old gelded, trotting son of Frankenshew has a lifetime mark of two minutes, set last season at Scarborough Downs, and lifetime earnings of more than $24,000. Captain EP is trained by Alison MacDonald of Falmouth and driven by Canadian Russell Burgoyne.
