Maine is now 9-9 overall, 4-8 in ECAC play.
On Sunday in Chestnut Hill, Mass., Droog scored just 23 seconds into the game and added goals in the second and third periods to up her total on the season to 15, second only to Harvard’s Jennifer Botterill among ECAC players.
Cindy Biron and Emily Stevens had the other Maine goals and Amanda Froats made 14 saves en route to the shutout.
Andrea Keller, Droog’s linemate, had three assists as did defenseman Kelly Nelson.
Sharon Van Tuyl made 32 saves for BC, which is 3-15 and 1-12.
At Hanover, N.H. Saturday, first-period goals by Liz Macri and Carrie Sekela and second-period scores by Carly Haggard and Louise Pietrangelo staked Dartmouth to a 4-0 lead and the Big Green withstood a Maine rally to improve to 11-1-1 overall, 9-1-1 in ECAC play.
Dartmouth, the nation’s No. 1 ranked team, was coming off its first loss (Northeastern).
Keller and Jarin Sjogren pulled Maine within two with power-play goals in the third period but Haggard added an insurance goal with 1:03 remaining, 12 seconds after Sjogren’s goal.
