Tuttle, Blanchard lead Presque Isle past Broncos in overtime

PRESQUE ISLE – Autumn Tuttle hit two free throws to send the game into overtime and Billi Blanchard scored eight of her 18 points in the extra period to lead the Presque Isle Wildcats to a 54-43 schoolgirl basketball win over the Hampden Academy Broncos Saturday.

Tuttle finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Blanchard added eight rebounds.

At The Forum in Presque Isle, Sean Tardif and Karl Moser tallied a goal and an assist each as the Broncos turned back the Wildcats.

Adam Standley and Colin Ingram scored the other goals for 5-6 Hampden. Greg Taylor and Patrick Bailey added assists. Julian Kaelin made seven saves on nine shots.

Andy Beaulieu scored both goals for the 6-4 Wildcats. Darren Carlisle added an assist while Joey Grenier made 32 saves on 36 shots.

Orono 5, Houlton 3

At Millar Civic Center in Houlton, Jake Hedstrom led Orono over Houlton with three goals and two assists.

Pat Skall and Will Toner each notched a goal and an assist while Ian Ferguson added two assists for the 10-0 Red Riots. Goalie Paul Pangburn made 30 saves on 33 shots.

David Carmichael led the 4-5 Shiretowners with two goals as Jeremy Lindon netted a goal and Luke Fitzpatrick notched three assists. Goalie Brandon Carmichael stopped 40 of 45 shots.

At Eastport, Shane Alley hit a 3-pointer with four seconds left in the game to break a tie and lift the Royals to their 10th win.

Jamie Alley paced Jonesport-Beals with 16 points, Pat Robinson added 11 and D.R. Alley scored 10.
