FARMINGTON – Tom Nadeau’s free throw with five seconds left gave the University of Maine-Farmington Beavers a 71-70 men’s basketball victory over the UM-Machias Clippers on Monday afternoon.
Mike Fullerton paced the Beavers with 18 points and 17 rebounds. Nadeau finished with 16 points, Dan Orcutt added 13, and Mike Wilcox put in 10.
Albert Whittaker scored 19 points to lead the Clippers. Mark Knowles added 13 points and Miguel Khan netted 10. Sharrief Sims notched four assists.

At Johnston Gym in Bangor, Nick Wiberg poured in 43 points to power the Golden Eagles past the Falcons.
Wiberg also grabbed 25 rebounds and dished out five assists. Brad Galley had 16 points and 10 rebounds for Eastern Maine Tech, while James Osborne added 16 points and Mike Dow chipped in with 13.
Dave Jellson topped Northern Maine Tech of Presque Isle with 20 points. Shane Durost had 18 points, Willie Sleeper tossed in 14, and Chris Czosnek contributed 13.

At Farmington, senior Becky Roak became the 10th UMaine-Farmington women’s player to reach 1,000 career points, scoring a game-high 26 in the Beavers’ victory.
Roak added seven assists and six rebounds for UMF, while Jocelyn Sawyer contributed 15 points. Rachel Bard chipped in with 11 points, 10 steals and seven assists.
Angela Robb paced UM-Machias with 18 points, while Gillian Guest provided 14 points and Betsy Elmer 12.
