Milton leads Beavers to win

ASHLAND – Allen Milton scored nine of his 12 points in the fourth quarter as Washburn held off an Ashland rally for a 56-48 schoolboy basketball win Wednesday night.

Daren Pesut scored a game-high 14 points for the winners while Ben Umphrey and Tyler Bragg combined for 17 more.

Randall Perry’s 13 points, Geoffrey LeBlanc’s 12 and Eric Ham’s eight led Ashland, which had come within two in the final eight minutes.

Andrew Perry had a game-high 20 points for the winners; Ryan Lamoreau contributed 18 points, 10 rebounds and five assioosts and Derek Carlow had 15 points.

William Feltner’s 14 points, Dylan Lord’s 12 and Nick Boutin’s 10 points paced Lubec.
