WATERVILLE – Thirteen players scored two or more points to power the Colby College White Mules to a 70-57 women’s basketball win over Connecticut College Friday night.

Kim Condon and Mandy Cochrane paced the winners with 11 points each.

At Waterville, Kirk Allen of Bangor came off the bench to spark the White Mules as he went 5-for-9 from the field, including three 3-pointers, for the win.

Allen finished with 16 points for the winners and Sam Clark scored 13 points and had 13 rebounds.

Hofstra 75, New Hampshire 70

At Hempstead, N.Y., Norman Richardson scored a season-high 23 points and Hofstra, despite blowing a 23-point lead in the second half, beat New Hampshire 75-70 Friday night.

The Pride won their fifth straight overall and eighth in a row over the Wildcats.

The Pride (13-4, 6-2 America East) shot 75 percent (18-for-24) in the first half in taking a 49-30 lead. They extended the lead to 56-33 with 17:03 left on a three-point play by Danny Walker, but they would make only two more field goals the rest of the game.

Assane Faye had 16 points for New Hampshire (5-12, 4-4), which hit six 3-pointers in the 35-9 run that put the Wildcats in front 68-65 with 3:19 to play on a basket down low by Faye.

New Hampshire then turned the ball over on its next five possessions. Hofstra retook the lead at 69-68 on two free throws by Joel Suarez with 2:21 left.

Suarez, a freshman who started in place of Rick Apodaca who missed the game with a thigh injury, scored on a layup with 1:36 left to make it 71-68 and the Pride went 4-for-5 from the free throw line until Anthony Oglesby scored with 4.9 seconds left for New Hampshire.

Richardson finished 8-for-12 from the field for the Pride, who shot 26 percent in the second half (5-for-19). They were 7-for-8 on 3-pointers in the first half and then missed all seven attempts from beyond the arc in the second half.

Suarez finished with 16 points for Hofstra, which committed 16 of its 27 turnovers in the second half.

Shawn Collette added 10 points for the Wildcats, who shot 35 percent (23-for-65).
