BANGOR – The Eastern Maine AIDS Network is the recipient of a $2,150 award from the Maine Community AIDS Partnership to provide emergency services to individuals and their families living with HIV, in Penobscot, Aroostook and Piscataquis counties.

The MCAP award will assist the agency in providing help with utilities and fuel, as well as transportation, short-term emergency housing, clothing and other nonmedical needs.

The Maine Community AIDS Partnership has been instrumental in providing the necessary initial support for many vital services in Maine that have resulted in an improvement in quality of life for hundreds of Maine residents living with HIV.

For more information on MCAP, to volunteer, or to become a community partner, call 871-2925, or visit the Web site at www.mmc.org/development/mcap
