CALAIS – A revived second-half effort and a third-quarter explosion by Kari Redding Thursday night led the Calais Blue Devils to a 75-56 schoolgirl basketball victory over Shead of Eastport.

Katie Frost led the Devils with 20 points and six rebounds while Redding scored all 13 of her points in the third to help them pull away. Morgan Drew had 12 points while Lanna Martin and Nanci Feck each scored 11 as the Devils finished with 21 steals.

Sara Ricker went 12-for-14 from the free throw for 18 points for the Tigers. Natalie Smith had 12 points and Samantha Davis added 10.

Griffeth, who was 15 for 15 from the foul line, popped in 32 points to James’ 30. Caribou went 24 for 26 from the line in the game, including 17 for 18 in the final period. Fort Kent had cut their deficit to four with four minutes to play before the Vikes free throw shooting put them to bed.

Anthony Lamar led the Warrior attack with 21 points while Aaron Ouellet added 12.
