BANGOR – Senior forward Alison Smith scored 16 points, including the 1,000th of her high school career, to help lead the Bangor Rams to a 58-29 girls basketball victory over Bucksport Thursday night.
Smith, believed to be only the second Bangor varsity girls player (Katie Clark is the other) to score more than 1,000 points, now has 1,002.
“Katie’s situation was very different in that she was our primary scorer, whereas Alison plays on a much more offensively balanced team,” said Rams coach Tom Tennett, now in his 16th season. “In that sense, it may have been a tougher feat for Alison …. We’re really proud of her.”
Terra Curtis also paced the Rams with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Jlynn Frazier chipped in with 11 points.
