BANGOR – State drug agents announced Friday that several investigations have resulted in drug trafficking charges against five people from the Bangor area.
The drugs involved in the arrests were heroin, liquid LSD, marijuana and prescription drugs, according to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Drug agents reportedly made two controlled purchases of two bags of heroin and two OxyContin pills from Chad Laws, 23, of Bangor and charged him with trafficking in heroin and trafficking in OxyContin. Related to Laws’ arrest, MDEA agents charged Shawn Keenan, 23, also of Bangor with trafficking in OxyContin after purchasing two OxyContin pills from him, according to Roy E. McKinney, director of the MDEA, and Garry Higgins, supervisor of the Bangor Task Force office.
Both Laws and Keenan have been released from jail on bail.
Drug agents also arrested Merico “Ricco” Meucci, 21, who was charged with trafficking in liquid LSD, and also with operating a motor vehicle after license suspension. Authorities received information that Meucci was reportedly in possession of liquid LSD and, after learning that his license had been suspended and that he was wanted on a warrant, stopped him while he was driving a motor vehicle. Meucci is currently out on bail.
Craig Foss, 31, of Holden has been charged with three counts of trafficking in heroin after agents made three purchases from him, amounting to 50 bags of heroin, according to the MDEA report. Foss was arrested after the third sale. Searching him, agents reportedly found about a half-gram of heroin on him.
Foss remains in jail and may face federal charges at a later date.
Maine Drug Enforcement Agency investigators also summoned Andrew Okusko, 18, of Hermon, charging him with two counts of trafficking in marijuana after making two controlled purchases from him, according to the report.
