CARIBOU – A drug dealer from the St. John Valley was ordered to serve 18 months in jail for violating his probation by selling scheduled drugs.

Michael Pelletier, 45, of St. David also received a five-year suspended sentence Monday for selling marijuana, according to documents on file at Aroostook County Superior Court in Caribou.

Pelletier was convicted in 1994 of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, marijuana, and served four years of a seven-year sentence. He also was ordered to serve four years’ probation.

He was indicted last year for two counts of selling several pounds of marijuana.

As part of the conditions associated with his latest probation period, Pelletier will be required to pay $11,000 in fines and fees imposed upon him after his initial conviction, according to court documents.

Pelletier will begin his sentence Feb. 28, according to court records.

Pelletier was represented by Presque Isle attorney Jeff Ashby, and Deputy District Attorney John Pluto prosecuted the case. Justice Paul T. Pierson presided.

Also sentenced recently in Aroostook County Superior Court:

Jesse Green, 19, Caribou, assault, 120 days in jail; burglary, two years in jail, all but 120 days suspended, two years probation, $400 fine.

Daniel Easler, 25, Mapleton, two counts of operating after revocation, six months in jail; three counts of criminal operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants, six months in jail, $1,000 fine and four-year license suspension; operating after habitual offender, 60 days; violating a condition of release, 30 days.

Christian Sorenson, 39, Caribou, criminal threatening, two years in jail, all but six months suspended.

Stephen J. Ashford, 20, Presque Isle, theft, 90 days; burglary, two years, all but six months suspended, one year of probation, $495 restitution ordered.

Gary Whitmore, 27, Fort Fairfield, revocation of probation, 48 hours in jail.

Justin A. Michaud, 18, Easton, operating an all-terrain vehicle to endanger, $250 fine.

Luis Collado Jr., 19, Lawrence, Mass., theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, 14 days; assault, 14 days.

Brent Rafford, 28, Madawaska, revocation of probation, 12 months in jail; theft, 12 months; theft of services, 12 months; and two counts of attempted theft by deception, four months.
