AUGUSTA – The death of a 5-year-old girl from Chelsea has been classified as suspicious, authorities said Friday.

Logan Marr was pronounced dead Wednesday at MaineGeneral Medical Center, where she was taken after the Augusta 911 Center received an emergency call about a child who stopped breathing.

An autopsy Thursday was inconclusive and detectives were awaiting the results of toxicology tests from out-of-state, said spokesman Stephen McCausland of the state Public Safety Department.

In classifying the death as suspicious, investigators were troubled by inconsistencies they found in the case, McCausland said.
