CALAIS – Police arrested a woman at the U.S.-Canada border Saturday when it was discovered she was wanted in New Mexico.

Evelyn Newell, 32, was arrested at the port of entry on a warrant from New Mexico, where she is charged with custodial interference extortion. Calais police report Newell was being held on $50,000 bail.
