Richardson sparks Raiders

EAST MACHIAS – Bob Richardson poured in 11 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Washington Academy Raiders to a 76-64 schoolboy basketball victory over the Shead Tigers Tuesday night.

The Raiders pushed the ball up the floor in the second half trying to avoid the Tigers’ zone defense.

Richardson finished with a game-high 30 points and Matt Gibson added 11.

Darrin Constant topped the Tigers of Eastport with 17 points, including five 3-pointers, Larry Bowen had 16 points, and Cliff Urquhart 14.

At Fort Kent Monday night, Emily MacDonald had a triple-double to lead the Warriors past the Eagles.

MacDonald scored 15 points to go along with 17 rebounds and 10 assists. McKenzie Boucher also scored 15 points for Fort Kent while Lindsey Pelletier added 13 and Danielle Harvey tossed in 10.

Nikki Michaud topped all scorers with 21 points for Limestone. Ashley Brooker chipped in with 10 points.
