THORNDIKE – Kevin Roberts scored 10 of his game-high 23 points in the first quarter to lead the No. 10 Mount View Mustangs to a 70-46 Class B prelim win over the No. 15 Foxcroft Academy Ponies in schoolboy basketball action Monday night.

Mount View jumped out to a 23-12 lead and cruised to the win.

Russ Peters and Calvin Goodale combined for 17 more points for the winners.

E.J. Imbert’s 12 points and 10 apiece from Kyle Wentworth and Danny White paced the 15th-seeded Ponies from Dover-Foxcroft.

Andrew Weatherbee’s 3-pointer had tied it for the Lynx with 40 seconds left.

Schenck then missed a shot, MA gained possession and then called a time-out with six seconds left to set up the game-winning play.

Wilkes finished with 16 points, Jonathan Carney had 15, Weatherbee scored 12 and Fred Pete contributed nine points for MA.

Seth Johnston and Ben Jamo paced Schenck with 15 and 14 points, respectively, while Ryan Deschenes and Mike Hamlin combined for 19 more.

The teams had split regular season games.

Ryan Taylor, William Edgerley and Corey Beaulieu had the goals for 1-14 Foxcroft. Ethan Annis, Josh Sands and Josh Colson picked up an assist apiece. Zach Brooks made 36 saves.

At Winslow, freshman goalie Dan Leighton recorded his first shutout, stopping all 12 shots, to give John Bapst their fourth win in a row.

Chris Todd led 6-10-1 John Bapst with two goals and an assist, Jon Rudnicki followed up with a goal and an assist. John Motta also scored a goal, and Jim Brown had an assist.

Goalkeeper Everett Flannery recorded 34 saves on 38 shots for 2-16 Lawrence of Fairfield.
