Bourdeau, Raiders upset Hawks

HODGDON – Diana Bourdeau led all scorers with 19 points to pace the No. 11 Raiders of East Machias to a 65-50 upset of the No. 6 Hodgdon Hawks in an Eastern Maine Class C girls second round playoff game on Wednesday.

Miranda Copeland tossed in 15 for Washington Academy. Miranda Fergerson chipped in with 11.

Courtney Kennedy led the Hawks with 12 points, all on 3-point field goals, while Alicia Dwyer added 10.

Lacey Bell hit two free throws with nine seconds to play to give the Panthers a 40-36 lead. Fort Fairfield hit a basket and drew a foul on the other end with two seconds later, but missed the foul shot. Central rebounded and ran out the clock.
