What is causing that stinking smell coming from the Sawyer mountain dump in Hampden that many are complaining about? Isn’t everyone’s garbage supposed to go to PERC to be burned? So what are they sneaking into the facility? Tree stumps, broken cinder blocks and demolition debris doesn’t emit any appreciable odor – if any.

Whatever it is, the hundreds of circling sea gulls are attracted to the Sawyer mountain build-up site.

Those ocean sea gulls down on the coast had better not come inland to Hampden and mess with our concrete-eating sea gulls or they’ll be sorry.
