EAST MACHIAS – The ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Program has donated $500 to Washington Academy’s fourth annual giving campaign.

“We’re proud to be a part of the efforts by the academy to continue to provide outstanding educational opportunities to the young people in the area,” said Allan Dodge, manager of Machias One Stop.

Dodge, a 1972 graduate of the academy, presented the check to Headmaster Judson McBrine on behalf of the Educational Alliance Program. The program is designed to provide Mobil retailers with an opportunity to support their communities through grants to local schools.

The academy will use the money to support improvements in the arts, academics and school activities that allow students to explore their fields of interest.
