OLD TOWN – A house on Stillwater Avenue had minor damage in a Tuesday afternoon fire, according to Fire Chief James Lavoie. No one was injured.

The fire was reported at 4:07 p.m. as rush hour began on Stillwater Avenue. Traffic slowed to a crawl and backed up to the Bennoch Road in Orono.

Damage was limited to a first-floor bedroom in the house at 560 Stillwater Ave., located next to Dairy Queen, he said.

Three people were in the building, owned by Bertha Osnoe, when one of them noticed smoke coming from under the bedroom door, according to firefighters.

State Fire Marshal Ed Archer later deemed the cause of the fire as accidental and unintentional.

Offices for Black Bear Taxi also are located in the house.
