The Pittsfield Bowl men’s candlepin bowling team shattered the state record during last weekend’s Maine Open team competition at Lucky Strike Lanes in Gardiner. Pittsfield rolled a 713 total in the final game to finish with 3,255 and a 99-pin win over Vacationland of Saco.

The Pittsfield Bowl men’s candlepin bowling team shattered the state record during last weekend’s Maine Open team competition at Lucky Strike Lanes in Gardiner.

Pittsfield rolled a 713 total in the final game to finish with 3,255 and a 99-pin win over Vacationland of Saco. It was a Vacationland team that had set the old mark of 3,221 in 1989.

Pittsfield team members and their pinfalls were Kevin McNally 682, Tom Tremblay 603, Jim Killiam 616, Dave Vigue 683, and Scott Sirois 671.

In addition, Al Joy of Vacationland broke the Lucky Strike men’s five-game mark with a 713. The old record was 684.
