About 40 key Washington County residents are expected to participate in a tour of western Maine’s Oxford Hills area as part of a mobile think tank this week.

Participants representing education, labor, business, government, students and community members will journey to Oxford Hills on Wednesday to meet with leaders in education, economic development and business. The group will tour the new Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and meet with students and parents to see firsthand how the school and communities it serves are working together to raise educational attainment levels.

The tour will allow Washington County residents an opportunity to learn from Oxford Hills’ recent experiences and successes. The cost of the trip is underwritten as part of the planning grant received last year from the U.S. Department of Education.
