MaineHealth program receives $419,370 grant

WASHINGTON – MaineHealth, a collaboration among health care providers in southern and central Maine, will receive a $419,370 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to fund CarePartners, a community access program, according to U.S. Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins.

The CarePartners program is designed to improve access to health care and other services for low-income residents earning up to 150 percent of the federal poverty level, and support a healthier lifestyle through preventative health care. MaineHealth estimates the program can enroll 4,600 adults without access to insurance over the course of the three-year implementation phase, as well as enroll 3,200 families on Medicaid and Cub Care through the program’s intake process.
