Haven’t had enough of driving fast on icy roads? Welcome to the West Cove Ice Racing Association’s race day, starting at noon Saturday on frozen Moosehead Lake.

Drivers in several classes will be ready at 10 a.m., warming up and getting their cars set for a grueling tour of icy turns and hard-accelerating straightaways, featuring 33 cars in stock and modified classes.

The association is a nonprofit group that presents a scholarship to a Greenville High School student headed for a technical school.

Race day action starts with a drivers’ meeting at 11:30 a.m., lineup at 11:50 a.m. and the green flag at noon. There will be heats and features for all classes and trophy presentations after all the races are finished. For information, call 695-3566. Those who wish, may view the West Cove Ice Racing Association’s Web page at www.geocities.com/iceracers/index.html or go to maineracing.com and click on links until the WCIR page is found.
