I got up at 4 a.m. to get a good spot on Beech Hill Pond during the recent MDI Fishing Derby and had a great day fishing. I caught three big bass, one togue and a couple of nice brook trout. I threw back everything except two brookies.

I got up at 4 a.m. to get a good spot on Beech Hill Pond during the recent MDI Fishing Derby and had a great day fishing. I caught three big bass, one togue and a couple of nice brook trout. I threw back everything except two brookies.

When I got to the derby headquarters, they said my trout looked like they had been frozen. What do they expect when I got them at 8 a.m. and the temperature is down to almost zero? I was hurt and will probably not fish that derby again.
