LINCOLN – About 45 Lincoln area businesses will be showing off their products and services at Expo 2001.
The event, sponsored by the Lincoln Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce, will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at Mattanawcook Academy.
“It is designed to let area businesses show their product lines and to let people know what they have to offer,” said Carole Potts, the Chamber’s treasurer and a member of its Expo 2001 Committee.
Potts said the event also would help give new businesses some exposure to the public. She said the event is being held to help raise money for the Chamber.
A wide range of businesses will participate in Expo 2001 including Internet companies, golf courses, construction, auto dealers, banks, satellite companies, photography, real estate, marine, credit card and day care. Local restaurants and grocery stores will supply a food court in the high school cafeteria.
In addition, Penobscot Valley Hospital will offer a health fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the high school. Participants can have their blood pressure checked and can gather information about hospital programs and services, including the material care program and the diabetes program and more.
The event also includes entertainment for all ages. Zachary Field Vocalists, Tom Knowles and Jane Scanlon and the WMJD Puppet Company will perform.
Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for seniors and children.
A special bonus super 50-50 drawing will be held at the end of the day, but people must be present to win. There is some booth space left for businesses, but it is running out. Those interested should contact Potts at 794-6765 or David Whalen at 794-6532 to reserve a space.
