She’s got the blues
A funny letter written by Alexandra Fish of Gardiner made her a runner-up in Kraft Macaroni & Cheese’s “I Want the Blues!” contest. Her letter, which was selected from more than 12,000 entries, won her a kitchen full of mac ‘n’ cheese, an “I’m a Blue-Box Kid!” T-shirt, and a certificate with the seal of approval from Cheesasaurus Rex. Here’s Alexandra’s entry:
December 27, 1776
Dear Papa,
We won the battle of Trenton! We crossed the Delaware River in the dark of night. You couldn’t hear a thing except the waves crashing against our boat and Washington’s command to set baskets of Kraft macaroni and cheese drifting downstream to the Hessian fort. The Hessians weren’t able to resist the macaroni! Then, while the Hessians were stuffing themselves (they must have had the Blues) we snuck up and took over the fort! I bet the British are sore! Thank you Kraft! (We ate some macaroni too!)
Your macaroni-loving daughter,
Alexandra Fish
