Those who want to hunt moose in Maine are reminded that the deadline for Moose Permits Applications is April 2. Completed applications must be postmarked no later than midnight on April 2 or delivered to the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife headquarters in Augusta.

Moose season runs from Oct. 8 through 13 in some areas of the state and from Sept. 24 through 29 in others. It is the first year there is a split season for the hunt.
