NEW SWEDEN – A local man apparently avoided serious injures Monday morning when the car he was driving left the road and rolled over, according to the Maine State Police.
John Deveau, 19, was driving a 1990 Toyota north on Route 161 when he apparently fell asleep and lost control of the car about 8:30 a.m., according to Trooper Dan Marquis.
Deveau was taken by ambulance to Cary Medical Center in Caribou, where he was treated and then released, according to hospital officials.
The vehicle was considered a total loss, according to Marquis.
