As a concerned citizen who attended the Bangor Planning Board meeting on March 20, I would like to commend the board for wisely postponing a decision on the developers’ proposal for a new, much larger Wal-Mart to be built off Stillwater Avenue. Many questions were raised about the aggravated traffic problems such a development would cause the surrounding residential area. Also raised were numerous questions about the environmental and wildlife concerns with this proposed development.

Until the hopeful developer has more fully answered these many legitimate and lawful questions and concerns, the planning board should feel under no pressure to come to a premature decision.
