PRESQUE ISLE – Directors at a special board meeting of Aroostook Home Care Agency and Hospice of Aroostook have voted to affiliate with The Aroostook Medical Center. TAMC President David Peterson said the hospital board supports home health services and sees the affiliation fitting well with TAMC’s services.
The AHCA action invites TAMC to explore an affiliation in which AHCA would become a subsidiary of the hospital. TAMC officials said the hospital staff would review financial reports, services, staffing and other agreements before making a recommendation.
AHCA is a not-for-profit corporation providing skilled nursing services, home health aide services, and physical therapy to Aroostook County patients at home. AHCA subsidiaries are Visiting Nurses of Aroostook, Hospice of Aroostook, AVN Services, Aroostook Visiting Nurses, and VNA Rose Foundation.
TAMC is a hospital providing acute care, primary care, community-based services, kidney dialysis, and ambulance and nursing home services for Aroostook County residents. It includes The Aroostook Medical Center; Horizons Health Services; TAMC Health Group and the Lifeline Program; TAMC Business Group and TESCO; and TAMC Title Corp.
