CAPE CORAL, Fla. – Stacy Thurston and and Amy Lisavich combined on a one-hitter in Colby College’s first game of the day to help the White Mules earn a split of two softball games on Thursday.

Colby topped Lawrence 1-0 in the first game and fell to Upper Iowa 6-3 in the second game.

In the first game, the Colby duo combined to strike out six batters and Kate Magnusson singled twice and drove in the game’s lone run. Courtney Frye managed two infield hits for the Mules. Kim Chadwick opened the game with a double and scored on Magnusson’s RBI base hit.

In the second game, Upper Iowa scored four runs over the final two innings to earn the win. Amy Lisavich and Carrie Morin rapped RBI singles for the Mules. Lisavich and Jess Fitzgerald collected two singles apiece.

Upper Iowa’s Erica Sheldon allowed five hits in the first inning but only two from the second inning on.
