ST. PAUL, Minn. – Penn State’s Joe Crispin and Holli Tapley of Calais, Maine, won the 3-point shootouts and William Patterson’s Horace Jenkins took the dunk title Thursday night in the Slam Dunk and 3-Point Championships.
Tapley won the women’s 3-point contest, and Crispin defeated Tapley in a shootout between the champions at Concordia University’s Gangelhoff Center.
Tapley graduated from Calais High in 1997 and was a three-time NEWS All-Maine selection.
Crispin won the men’s 3-point competition by defeating Virginia’s Keith Friel 22-20 in the final round.
