KENDUSKEAG – One driver was summoned for operating under the influence of intoxicants and two people were taken to the hospital after a two-car accident Sunday afternoon on the Mudgett Road.
Theresa Connor, 44, of Bangor was driving on the Mudgett Road toward the Higginsville Mill Road about 4 p.m., according to police. She lost control of her Toyota Camry when she hit a series of frost heaves and a pothole, according to Sgt. John Skroski of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department.
Derek Porter, 28, of Kenduskeag was turning right off the Higginsville Mill Road when Connors lost control of her vehicle. The Camry crossed into Porter’s lane and struck the passenger door of the driver’s side of his Toyota Corolla, sending it backward into a snowbank.
Connors’ Camry spun around and continued backward off the road and over a snowbank. The back of the car came to rest against a tree.
Porter suffered head lacerations and was unconscious when emergency personnel arrived. His brother Nolan Godsoe III, 24, of Holden was riding in the passenger seat. He complained of sore ribs and neck and back pain. The two were treated at St. Joseph Hospital.
Connors refused treatment at the scene, but was taken to the sheriff’s office and given a breathalyzer test. Her blood-alcohol level was 0.11 percent, according to Skroski.
