Somewhere along the way, we are missing the point of school gun safety. What we really need is to call an assembly of parent gun owners, which also includes homes without children. Locking up guns in a gun cabinet with ammo in a drawer in the same cabinet doesn’t make sense. Any child with common sense can figure a way to put the gun and ammo together, allowing the child to carry out his or her anger with someone they’re upset with.

Who really is to blame, the gun owner or child who uses the gun for the wrong reason? As a result of a child’s misuse of a gun, that life and the lives of families and friends are forever affected. Trigger locks are not the answer. Proper education is the answer.
