WATERVILLE – Actress Sissy Spacek will be honored this summer at the fourth annual Maine International Film Festival.

The 10-day festival, which begins July 6, is organized by the nonprofit Friends of Art and Film in Central Maine. This year’s schedule includes screenings of more than 50 films.

Spacek won an Academy Award for best actress for her portrayal of country singer Loretta Lynn in the 1980 film, “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” She also received Oscar nominations for her roles in “Carrie,” “Missing,” “The River” and “Crimes of the Heart.”

The festival also will present a tribute to Spacek’s husband, director, production designer and art director Jack Fisk. Fisk’s credits include “The Thin Red Line,” “Days of Heaven” and “Badlands.”
