Vocational students showcase championship skills

They wired and welded, baked and bonded, sauteed and spoke, pounded and plumbed during the March 16 Skills USA-VICA Championships at United Technical Center and Eastern Maine Technical College in Bangor.

It was a chance for secondary and postsecondary students from a variety of vocational schools to show what they’ve learned. Professionals from chefs to electricians helped judge the contests.

Winners on the secondary level from the northern half of the state were:
