The Maine Hoops sixth-grade team from the Greater Bangor area won the state championship Sunday at the Youth Basketball of America tournament in Portland, defeating the Maine Thunder of Rumford 47-44.

Team members include Isaac Young, Lincoln; Adam L’Italien, Enfield; Anthony Atkins, Hollis; Jonathan McAllian, Orrington; Nick Swanson, Trenton; Danny Kane, Bradford; Brad Libby and Kyle Rees, both of Brewer. The Maine Hoops competed for the Maine AAU state title April 28-29 in Portland.
