ORONO – The University of Maine softball team won’t have a true home game this weekend, but the Black Bears will get a chance to play in the state of Maine.

UMaine will take on Hartford at Rockland High School’s softball field in a pair of weekend doubleheaders. Saturday’s games begin at 2 p.m. while Sunday’s twinbill starts at noon.

The games were originally scheduled for UMaine’s Kessock Field, but a late thaw has made that field unplayable. Subsequent plans to play on Hartford’s field didn’t pan out because after Thursday’s rainstorm.
