Bangor police reported several burglaries and thefts Monday. In a separate case, police also arrested a 23-year-old man on warrants for traffic offenses and failing to appear in court.
The theft of a $1,540 kerosene heater from a display modular home on Odlin Road produced no arrests. Police said that entry was gained from a side door sometime between 5 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 a.m. Monday, and a pipe was cut to remove the heater, which had been used to heat the display building.
Prescription drugs valued at $205 were taken from a Broadway home sometime between 8:30 and 10 a.m. Monday. Whoever entered the home used a key, police said.
The theft of $275 in CDs and $102 in cash was reported Monday. The theft occurred between 10:30 p.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday from a car parked at Bald Mountain Drive in Bangor. The 60 CDs were described only as being by several artists.
An airless paint sprayer and 50 feet of hose valued at $800 were taken from the back of a pickup truck between 8 a.m. and 11:15 p.m. Sunday at the Doug’s Shop ‘n Save parking lot on Union Street. The wife of the owner of the truck parked it when she went to work at the grocery store.
CDs valued at $250 were stolen from a vehicle left parked between 8 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday at a home on Finson Road.
Police arrested Kevin Letourneau, 23, of Hampden at 10:25 p.m. Sunday after he could not produce a driver’s license. He allegedly failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming vehicle as he made a left turn from Main Street onto Union Street near downtown Bangor. When asked for registration and driver’s license, Letourneau produced only the registration and said that his license had been suspended.
Officer Brent Beaulieu said that he checked records that showed Letourneau had several suspensions and two warrants for his arrest for driving after suspension and failure to appear in court in Kennebec County. Letourneau was set to appear in Bangor District Court on May 18.
