Figure skater Tessa McCue of Hampden has been certified for junior ladies status by the United States Figure Skating Association. The 15-year-old McCue moved up from the novice ladies division during a Tuesday tryout routine at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro, Mass.

The judges scored McCue on specific skating elements, including edges, precision and form. Junior ladies is one level below the elite senior ladies division, which includes the world-class skaters.
