Vermont man sentenced to 7 days in Maine jail

WATERVILLE – A Vermont man who pleaded guilty to assaulting his fiancee and damaging the motel room they were staying in will spend seven days in Kennebec County Jail.

Christopher Lee Larose, 26, of Swanton, Vt., must pay $500 in fines and $1,500 in restitution to the Budget Host Inn in Waterville.

He appeared Tuesday in Waterville District Court and pleaded guilty to assault, operating under the influence and criminal mischief. His driver’s license has been suspended for 90 days.

Larose became enraged Monday night and threw an alarm clock at the woman, who was in Maine visiting her family, police said. He then dragged her down the motel hallway, bruising her leg.

He then drove away while intoxicated, police said.
