Yarmouth native Travis Roy, a former hockey standout who was paralyzed 11 seconds into his first shift in his first college hockey game for Boston College in 1995, will speak at Colby College in Waterville April 23 at 7 p.m.

Roy will discuss his personal struggles . The speech, which will be held in the Page Commons Room of Cotter Union, is open to the public and free of charge.
