Karen Matero of Westbrook won her fourth straight women’s state candlepin bowling championship Sunday afternoon with a 1,296-1,141 defeat of Amanda Davis of Buxton. The 10-string matches took place at the Vacationland Bowling and Recreation Center in Saco.
Kevin Sparks, also of Westbrook, took the men’s title, outscoring Russ Nealey of Otis 1,326-1,261.
With their wins, Matero and Sparks qualified for the International Ladies and Men’s Championships. That tournament will be held in Haverhill, Mass., on Oct. 21.
