ELLSWORTH – Sarah Metivier struck out eight while allowing four hits to lead the Old Town Indians to a 9-2 high school softball victory over the Ellsworth Eagles Saturday.
Metivier aided her own cause with three singles.
Shaunessey Saucier drove in three runs on a double and a single, and Meghan King added a double for Old Town.
Sarah Silsby led Ellsworth with a single and an RBI. Crystal Roberts chipped in with a double.

At Blue Hill, Sarah Clapp notched four singles with the game-winning RBI in the seventh to pace George Stevens Academy over Mount Desert Island.
Elise Bishop tallied a grand slam home run and two singles for the Eagles as Nikki Boutin also nailed two singles.
Every batter in the lineup notched a hit for the Trojans. Haley Linscott ripped a double and a single with two RBIs.

Lynx take two over Sumner
At East Sullivan, Mattanawcook allowed only one run in two wins over Sumner, 22-1 and 12-0.
In game one, Kari Vance pitched a one-hitter with eleven strikeouts and also singled twice with two RBIs for the Lynx of Lincoln while Brandi Rideout singled three times with two RBIs. Rachel Philio singled for the Tigers.
In game two, Karie Vance tossed a no-hitter with another 11 strikeouts and nailed two singles and a triple with an RBI. Cassie Carver singled twice for the Lynx as Desirae Haines doubled.

At Searsport, Tara Lee Webster fired a one-hitter, striking out nine and walking one, and the Vikings erupted for eight first-inning runs en route to triumph.
Tina Barton had a double and a single and drove in two runs for the winners. Laura Carroll and Lindsey Seekins had two singles apiece with Carroll driving in three runs and Seekins plating two.
Alice White-Cyr’s leadoff single in the first was Piscataquis Community High School of Guilford’s only hit.
