Webster carries Vikes to victory

SEARSPORT – Taralee Webster pitched a one-hitter to help the undefeated Searsport Vikings sail past the Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners 14-2 in schoolgirl softball action Monday.

Webster also produced at the plate, singling three times and driving in four runs. Heather Hruby had a pair of singles and two runs batted in for Searsport.

Meghan Wiberg singled for the Mariners.

At Harrington, pitcher Ashley Woodward struck out 15 batters to lead Narraguagus to victory.

Autumn Courchaine carried Narraguagus with three singles and an RBI. Sister Brooke Courchaine recorded a double, a single, and two RBIs. Becky Robitaille, Kate Farnsworth, and Sarah Snider hit two singles and batted in a run each.

Tess Bickford recorded the only hit for Sumner with a single.

Chelsea Carver, Abby Alley, and Monique Emerson notched a single apiece for Jonesport-Beals.

At Hermon, Megan Cole-Karagory doubled, singled twice and drove in three runs to power the Vikings.

Jamie Landeen and Michelle Snell each added three singles for the winners.

Krystal Terrill had a triple and run-scoring single for the Hawks and Tonya Laughlin added an RBI double.

At Belfast, Morgan Crandall fired a two-hitter to lead the Lions past the Huskies.

Crandall also chipped in at the plate with two singles, while Kelsey Bryant had the only run batted in of the game in the third inning for Belfast.

Amanda Leavitt had a triple and a single for Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield.

At Rockland, Kirby Gushee handed out six strikeouts to give Rockland its first victory of the season.

Lindsey Grant recorded the only hit for Rockland with a single.

Meredith Arute and Patty Picard hit a single apiece for Mount View.

At Thomaston, Jen Rackliffe doubled and rode home on Rachel Campbell’s one-out fifth-inning triple as Georges Valley snapped a 5-5 tie.

Campbell also had a double and two singles and Crystal Rogers had four singles and two RBIs to back the 14-strikeout game of freshman Lindsey Barlow.

Kendra Anderson had two doubles and a single good for two RBIs for Dirigo and Jessica Blaisdell contributed two base hits.

At Blue Hill, Kelly White held George Stevens to two hits, striking out nine batters.

Heather Pelletier led the Golden Bucks with a triple, two singles and four RBIs. Jessica Taylor followed up with three singles and three runs scored. White offered two singles and an RBI.

Jamie Wood notched a triple for George Stevens, and Nikki Kenistion bunted a single.

At Bangor, equal efforts from Megan Huckins, Jen Jimmo and Meghan Chase who contributed two singles apiece, led Bangor to victory.

Sara Boyorak followed up with a two-run double for the Rams.

Annie Levanson-Falk, Amelia Mitchell-Storer, and Ashley Cluff hit a single apiece for John Bapst.

At Hampden, Jamie Wells and Katie Linderman combined on a one-hitter while the Broncos pounded out 15 hits of their own.

Emmy Russell had a three-run-home run and an RBI double for Hampden Academy. Wells had three hits and two runs batted in, Jillian Yamartino had a two-run triple and a single, Shannon Pitula doubled and singled and Sarah Lozito and Kristina Spaulding had two hits apiece.

Michelle Thibeault had Orono’s only hit of the game.

Hermon 4, Caribou 3

At Hermon, Adam Duplisea raced home from third with the winning run in the seventh on a grounder to second by Phil Cayford. Duplisea singled to right, advanced to second on a passed ball and took third on a Ron Lane single.

Ryan Garland earned the win for Hermon by holding Caribou to five hits while striking out nine and walking three. Cayford chipped in with an RBI double and Duplisea singled twice.

Travis Snell smacked an RBI double and RBI single for Caribou and Nick Chasse added an RBI single.

At Harrington, Mike Hardy turned in a 5-for-5 effort with a two-run home run and four singles with an RBI to pace the Tigers of East Sullivan.

Josh Phinney chipped in with a three-run home run, an RBI double and two singles for the winners.

Gene Stewart singled twice and drove in two runs for the Knights and Larry Fickett added two singles and an RBI.

At Belfast, Kevin Herbig carried Belfast to its first win of the season with two doubles and two RBIs.

Devin Potvin provided two singles and an RBI. Steve Johnson hit a solo home run in the fourth.

Chad Bennett led Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield with a two-run home run in the third.

At Rockland, Kevin Glover’s three-run homer and Blair Drinkwater’s two-run double keyed a seven-run second-inning rally that carried Rockland past Mount View of Thorndike.

Mount View closed to 7-4 but Rockland put the game away with five runs in the fifth on Shane Dow’s three-run double and Jake LaBree’s two-run single.

Dow had two singles to go with his double; LaBree singled three times and Drinkwater doubled and singled. Parker Tootill notched the win with seventh-inning relief help from Drinkwater.

Chris Carmen and Keith Fuller had two hits and two RBIs apiece for Mount View.

At Blue Hill, Chris Sargent notched a two-run home run in the fifth inning that gave George Stevens Academy a three-run lead that would carry it to victory.

Simeon Allen hit three singles for the undefeated Eagles. Jake Lowell and Chris Landage contributed two singles apiece.

Adam Sheehan hit a two-run homer and Justin Barnes hit a solo shot for Bucksport.

At Searsport, Ben Relyea and Marcus Quisenberry had run-scoring singles in the five-run sixth-inning rally that erased an 11-9 deficit and gave Searsport its first win after two losses.

Relyea also doubled in the game while Jarrod Kronholm had a pair of singles and three RBIs.

Evan Haskell had a two-run homer for Deer Isle-Stonington while Darrell Dunham and Eric Ray added solo shots.

At Hampden, Daryl Watson (1-0) pitched a four-hitter while striking out seven and walking three to lead the visiting Red Riots to a win over Hampden Academy.

Orono’s Bo Thomas belted a two-run home run in the fourth and singled twice for four RBIs. Watson and Tom Round each had a double and a single.

Kyle Dalton ripped a solo home run in the fifth for the Broncos.

Corey Jeskey and Dave Chrisos notched three singles apiece for Bangor Christian. Matt Conley and Ben Sobey recorded a single and two RBIs each.
